Comparing Decimals

 

43.567  >  43.527

 

Compare the whole number part.

If they are different, the decimal number with the larger whole number is larger.

 

If they are the same,

Compare the digits in the tenths place.

If they are different, the decimal number with the bigger digit in the tenths place is larger, regardless of the digits that follow.

 

If they are the same,

Compare the digits in the next decimal place.

And so on…

 

Use  <  or  >  while comparing fractions.
